PRIMO DEWORMER WITH SAFE-GUARD® – Broad-Spectrum Parasite Control for Swine

Give your pigs the dependable parasite protection they need with Primo Dewormer with Safe-Guard® (fenbendazole). Formulated in a convenient 5 lb bag, this broad-spectrum dewormer provides trusted, effective control against the most common internal parasites affecting show pigs and breeding stock.

Each bag contains enough fenbendazole to treat one pig five to six times, depending on body weight at the time of treatment. Ideal for use in both show barns and commercial operations, this medicated Type B feed helps support gut health, improve performance, and maintain overall animal well-being.

Controls and Treats:

Lungworms:

  • Metastrongylus apri (adult)

  • Metastrongylus pudendotectus (adult)

Gastrointestinal Worms:

  • Large roundworms (Ascaris suum) – adult + L3/L4 larvae

  • Nodular worms (Oesophagostomum dentatum, O. quadrispinulatum) – adult

  • Small stomach worms (Hyostrongylus rubidus) – adult

  • Whipworms (Trichuris suis) – adult + L2–L4 larvae (intestinal mucosal forms)

Kidney Worms:

  • Stephanurus dentatus – adult + larvae

MIXING & FEEDING DIRECTIONS

Feed as a Type C medicated feed for 3 consecutive days, mixed according to pig body weight. The chart below shows the correct blend of Primo Dewormer Type B and regular feed needed to deliver the proper dose of 4.08 mg of fenbendazole per lb body weight.

Example: 200 lb Pig

Mix:

  • 1.00 lb Primo Type B Dewormer (1,634 g/ton fenbendazole)

  • 4.45 lbs regular feed

Total = 5.45 lbs Type C medicated feed
Feed this as the sole ration for 3 days, delivering:

  • 0.33 lbs Type B + 1.48 lbs regular feed daily

  • Provides the required 4.08 mg/lb fenbendazole dose

WITHDRAWAL PERIOD

  • Do NOT slaughter swine for human consumption within 4 days of the final treatment.

IMPORTANT WARNINGS

  • Parasite resistance can develop with any dewormer.

  • Accurate dosing is essential for best results.

  • Monitor effectiveness regularly—reduced response may indicate resistance.

  • Adjust your parasite control program as needed.
